We love the month of June for a multitude of reasons. Especially since it’s the official time of the year to celebrate and lift up the LGBTQ+ community. It was such a pleasure to see the hashtag #loveislove trending on the Photobug Community Facebook page without prompting from our team!
Along with beautiful images featuring LGBTQ+ couples, we also saw a substantial amount of black and white photos this month. Is there a new trend emerging that favors the timelessness and drama of black and white photography? Only time will tell. For now, enjoy our roundup of outstanding photographs brought to you by our talented community.
Top Pics of the Month For June 2021
Image shot on a Canon R6 with 50mm lens and edited with Claudia’s personal black and white preset.
“This shot was taken in the Javett Art Centre. On the afternoon of this incredible couple’s newlywed session, I literally dragged them to every nook and cranny of the building because everything was beautiful. Shooting in the gallery was their idea—since they enjoy viewing and appreciating art together. As they moved from one piece of artwork to the next, I was won over by the movement that was organically taking place in the shots. I wanted to capture the artwork behind them and their movement past one another, simultaneously, in a way that looked fluent and like art, too. It took one attempt of them walking past one another and me standing still in the middle of them to make magic!”
Image taken on a Nikon D780 with Sigma 35mm 1.4 Art lens. Edited with Dirty Boots and Messy Hair presets.
Taken with a DJI Mavic Mini 2.
“This couple was completely and utterly in love—and willing to swim in the coldest lake ever just to get this shot! We grabbed an inflatable mattress, a blanket and off we went.”
This image was taken on a Sony A711 with Sony 35mm F/1.8 lens. F1.8, 1/1000, 320 ISO, WB Auto.
Image taken on a Nikon D750 with Nikon 50mm lens. F2.5, 1/2500, 100 ISO.
